Today's Fun Find

Today while browsing through a few of my favorite fashion blogs, I came across one that really got me excited. Lately while I've been online shopping "Circle skirts" and "Skater skirts" have really been catching my eye. I came across a "Faux leather circle skirt" at Forever 21 for $9 and a few at Topshop and Urban Outfitters. These skirts are really trendy right now. These skirts are really fun and flirty, and go well with a sandal or flat. The blog Dulcecandy shows us a DIY way to make this cute piece, and add to add to your wardrobe.

Rihanna was seen sporting one; she wore a colorful outfit, paired the high-waisted turquoise circle skirt with a striped floral button-up and a pair of pumps.

1st Annual Second Hand/Vintage Pop Up Shop

On Saturday morning (June 15, 2013), I helped assist my mom in her first "Pop Up Shop" in Northwest, DC. The event was held at the District Architecture Center. This event was for vendors to sell items they've collected, made or just wanted to get rid of. There were vendors there who had vintage items, hand-made items and even some who sold sweets and deserts. My mom was a vendor who was selling vintage items she acquired on her recent visit to Paris, and even items she had in her closet that she felt others would enjoy. The even was a huge success, over 200 people came out to support. I look forward to the next event like this! Hopefully next time I'll have some vintage items of my own to sell..

Today's inspiration

Today the weather hasn't been the best. Rain and thunder doesn't make for a very "fashionista" day. So this morning I made a set that one could wear in this weather, but still keep true to her style. 

..and on the other hand, I made the alter-ego to this outfit. This one is more "fun in the sun." The color pop and fun, flirty style is one of my faves.

Overalls.. Hot or Not?

   

Overalls... are they in or are they out?

Fashion has been known to recreate styles, but is this one meant to come back? Stores such as Urban Outfitters and Free People have added their own urban, bohemian, chic twist to the look. From floral prints to acid wash. From pants, to shorts, to skirts; the overalls have been molded to fit just about any look.You can pair them with some boots, or your favorite sandals.. overalls are not just for "Farmers" anymore. I purchased a pair of acid wash, bleached, distress overalls back in 2010 and loved them! (too bad they became too small) But from there on, I knew in the back of my mind that they were slowly making a come back. Paired with a crop top and some sandals, I really liked the look. So I ask you, "Overalls... Hot or Not?"
